Yoga at Namayoga
What is yoga?
Yoga is an ancient tradition that consists of different systems that train both body and mind. Yoga includes asanas (positions) and pranayama (breathing) but also various meditation techniques and relaxation exercises. There are many directions and different yoga forms within yoga. At Namayoga in Kalmar, we offer several of these different yoga forms, including viryayoga, yinyoga and various forms of hatha yoga.
What is the purpose of yoga?
For us, it is to become more present and aware of what we are doing, whether we are in a yoga position or at work or cooking. To quiet the mind, to accept feelings, thoughts, fear and pain. To be in the present with yourself and others. The aim is also to strengthen the body by doing different asanas and movement patterns, as you become stronger, more flexible and have better balance.
Through our breath and conscious presence in yoga, we unite body, mind and soul.
